Show V
2 December
THE FINAL LAST ALL-TIME SHOW.
We wanted the last show to be special, so Subterranean Apache Jive closed out on a theme- folk music- super cool, and super American. Which is the most important thing. Tonite was a one-man show, DJ Pony Express was absent with mysterious ailings and ailments so DJ Hillbilly Jo took the reins and brought the goods to the last show. We've enjoyed our time here on the Edinburgh airwaves and we'll be posting soon about new projects.
DJ Hillbilly Jo

2009 Top 10 Albums (Pt. 2)
Part 2
Josh
The year 2009 was a Musical Renaissance to yours truly after a bit of a drought in 2008. While the year was full of fantastical debuts (Girls, The xx, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Passion Pit, and much much more), it was the veterans that took away the top honors for my personal top 10 (maybe a bit of a cliche, but for those of you familiar with Yellow House and Rise Above would know that my top 2 definitely had something great in them to nurture and evolve). Lets hope that this Renaissance carries over to 2010. Already there are many highly anticipated album releases in 2010, 2 songs of which from my top 25 are from the Yeasayer and Beach House albums that are expecting release early 2010. Other anticipated releases from Joanna Newsom (from my hometown's conjoined twin of a city, Nevada City), Spoon, Hot Chip, The National, Panda Bear, LCD Soundsystem, and Of Montreal.
Enjoy the list folks:

these are the top 10 of 2009 for each of us. as 2008 was sort of a slow year music-wise, 2009 had to really bring the goods, and they arrived. from early january, when merriweather post pavilion (placing in both of our top 10s) dropped, the stage was set, and the onslaught of new to the scene lofi/surf/noise/pop/some combination of those records that dropped all summer and continuing into the fall made sure there was always a topnotch new 7" to put on the ol' record player (or hard drive). some bands blew us away again, many refined their sound, and there are so many songs that we feel nostalgia for already, because in a certain place or time we heard them in 2009, we were somewhere with people loved doing what we wanted to do. we know the world's weird right now, but music is there with us to help us sort everything all out- right where we want it to be.

Interrupt
Due to technical difficulties (the interwebs dying), our show could not be broadcast last night. This was most unfortunate, as we had a special surprise plan. Our apologies to any of you that turned out and tuned in for it, we were super disappointed. However we're going to bring you some new content this week to make up for it, and hopefully next week we'll be back and firing on all cylinders.
Happy Thanksgiving! We're celebrating the old-fashioned American Way.
